About the Workshop

The Inter-American Defense College supported by US Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) will host an academic workshop on Institutionalizing and Operationalizing Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in the Western Hemisphere.

This workshop brings together hemispheric partners advancing WPS through different defense education focused activities, including curriculum development, professional development, academic research, and collaborative networks.

This collaborative, multinational workshop elevates the importance of the WPS Agenda, highlights the role of the military in advancing it, and demonstrates to defense and security sector participants the value of mainstreaming WPS institutionally and operationally. This workshop will be an excellent opportunity to promote WPS and learn from Western Hemispheric allies and partners who are working to institutionalize and operationalize WPS in the armed forces and defense organizations.

Certificate Requirements (Participation during conference presentations) Transportation Note: IADC will provide transportation to, and from the Airport, as well as between the hotel to the IADC.
