[:en]Honduras Minister of Defense visit[:]

[:en]We had the pleasure of welcoming Gen. Fredy Santiago Díaz Zelaya, Honduras Minister of Defense, to the IADC, May 15, 2019. During his visit, he met with Adm. Silvio Luis, IADC vice director, and spoke to Class 58 students, followed by a Q&A session.[:]

[:en]2019 Academic Trip – OCONUS[:]

[:en]Class 58, comprised of 67 students from 14 hemispheric nations, traveled to Mexico, Ecuador and Colombia April 27 – May 11, 2019. Academic trips use a variety of learning methods and modalities including conferences, presentations, and site visits to private and public sector locations, as well as cultural sites.  This trip allowed students to learn first-hand about the contemporary political, economic, social, military and cultural realities of the countries they visited.  Students benefited from both formal and informal opportunities to strengthen the personal and professional relationships that are key to the IADC academic experience.IADC leadership and staff also hosted an alumni reception during each country visit, recognizing and honoring alumni for their contributions to the college and the hemisphere.[:]

[:en]Lt. Gen. Plehn visits IADC[:]

[:en]Lt. Gen. Michael T. Plehn, U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) military deputy commander, visited the IADC on Wed., April 24. During his visit to the college, Lt. Gen. Plehn met with Maj Gen James E Taylor, IADC Director, and toured the campus. The USSOUTHCOM is an important IADC stakeholder.[:]

[:en]Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) students visited the IADC on April 23, 2019. During their visit, they had a chance to hear our mission brief and an academic brief. After the briefings they had mentor sessions with current Class 58 students.[:]

[:en]Cherry Blossom 5k[:]

[:en]IADC staff participated in the Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall Cherry Blossom Race Along the River, April 19, 2019. The college had the largest representation, earning the award for largest military group.[:]
