On Oct. 26, the InterAmerican Defense College conducted its annual Pentagon Field Study. Although the Pentagon Field Study is normally conducted in person, due to the pandemic, for this year’s iteration the event was conducted at Inter-American Defense College. The Pentagon Field Study typically consists of a tour of the Pentagon and briefings from distinguished military and defense officials. Accordingly, this year’s iteration included a briefing from the distinguished speaker, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for China, as well as Acting Deputy Director for Africa, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, the Joint Staff, Commanding General, United States Army Joint Modernization Command Futures and Concepts Center and Deputy Director For Politico-military Affairs, Western Hemisphere. Overall, despite not visiting the Pentagon in person, the students nonetheless benefited from the array of exceptional speakers who participated in this important event.
