The Inter American Defense College began its Field Study for the United States (CONUS), the first after the Covid-19 pandemic, in Colorado. The College Leadership, headed by the Director, General James Taylor; members of the staff and the Department of Studies, along with 68 students from more than a dozen nations in the Hemisphere.

The CONUS includes visits to places of particular importance in the field of Security and Defense, in the host country.

This activity grants credit within the Study Plan to obtain the Master in Defense and Inter-American Security, and its academic contents are coordinated and supervised by a professor from the Faculty, in this case Doctor Mariano Bartolome. After arriving in Colorado Springs from Andrews Air Force Base, the contingent held a cultural event: a visit to the Royal Gorge Park and Bridge, at one time the highest in the world, spanning the Arkansas River in the Greater Canyon.
