Mayor General  Rogelio Jorge Amador Mendoza

Chief of Studies

General Rogelio Jorge Amador Mendoza, staff officer and air force pilot, was born on april 19, 1968, in the state of oaxaca, mexico.  He joined the armed forces on september 1, 1983.

Education:

  • Artillery officer training course at the heroic military college.
  • Pilot training at the military aviation school, mexican air force academy.
  • Air force command and general staff course, and a degree in military administration from the mexican war college.
  • Course in defense governance from the william j. Perry center.
  • Diploma in “the professor as a human being” (emotional intelligence and social skills) from the monterrey institute of technology.
  • Master’s degree in institutional communication from the panamerican university in mexico city.
  • Master’s degree in national security from the national defense college.

Promoted from second lieutenant to general in a rigorous, hierarchical promotion system. 

Positions held during 42 years of active duty service:

  • Flight crew in several fixed and rotary-wing units of the mexican air force.
  • Commander of mexican air force squadrons 108 and 106.
  • Head of plans and programs for the mexican air force at the national training center.

  • Executive director and instructor at the mexican war college.
  • Deputy chief of staff of the 5th air group.
  • Group commander of the third section (operations), joint staff of national defense.
  • Deputy military and air attaché, mexican embassy in the republic of guatemala.
  • Head of the doctrine subsection for the s-6 (military education and doctrine), national defense general staff.
  • Deputy director of the mexican air force academy.
  • Deputy chief of air force military doctrine, mexican air force general staff.
  • Head of s-6 (military education and doctrine), joint staff of national defense.
  • Chief of studies at the inter-american defense college in washington, d.c., usa.

Military honors and awards (national and international):

  • Medal of perseverance, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st class, and “special” and “extraordinary” awards for more than 40 years of uninterrupted active duty service.
