Commissioner Gerald Camacho Sanchez

Senior Enlisted Advisor 

Senior Master Sergeant Michael Luis B. Camacho is the Senior
Enlisted Leader of the Inter-American Defense College, Ft. Lesley J.
McNair, Washington, D.C. Sergeant Camacho is the lead advisor for
enlisted matters to three Flag Officers and eight Senior Leaders
within the college. Leading 162 personnel compromising of US
Military, Foreign Military, US Civilians, Foreign Civilians, and
National police, Seargent Camacho leads the development of all
personnel directly impacting the accredited war college.
Sergeant Camacho’s key support facilitates 66 students who will
return to their home countries and serve in military, security, and
diplomatic positions. With this sphere of influence, after graduating,
these senior leaders will serve as strategic advisors within their
governments.
Sergeant Camacho was raised in Guam and earned a Bachelor of
Science in Political Science from the University of Guam prior to
entering the Air Force in November 2010. His background includes
executive support at the Squadron, Group, Wing, and Headquarters
level. He previously served on Air Force Life Cycle Management
Center’s Inspector General team and as Detachment 9’s additional
duty First Sergeant. Sergeant Camacho has participated in
numerous exercises throughout his career and deployed in direct
support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.
Prior to his current position, Sergeant Camacho was the lead
administrator and advisor to eight Senior Executive Service and
General Officers, ten Directorates and over 500 personnel. He
ensured personnel were trained and equipped to support
combatant commands, as well as oversaw multiple A1 executivelevel programs.
