Yesterday, The Inter-American Defense College held a change of command ceremony for incoming director Major General Richard J. Heitkamp at the IADC During the ceremony Maj. Gen. James E. Taylor, outgoing director, passed on command of the IADC to incoming director Maj. Gen. Richard J. Heitkamp.
The ceremony included distinguished guests such as Gen. Laura J. Richardson, Commander, U.S. Southern Command, Secretary General Luis Almagro Lemes, Organization of American States and Vice-Admiral Alexandre Rabello de Faria, Inter-American Defense Board, chairman and other guests.
We would like to welcome our new director and thank Maj. Gen. James E. Taylor for his dedication and contribution to the college and our continuing academic excellence.
