Inter-American Defense College leadership, faculty, staff and Class 66 students participated in a five-day field study at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore and multiple locations throughout New York City, Aug. 24-28, 2026.
The field study included visits to United Nations Headquarters, Citi headquarters, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and the New York National Guard 369th Regiment Armory. Students took part in guided tours, institutional briefings, academic discussions, question-and-answer sessions and team-building activities.
The field study supplemented the Class 66 academic curriculum by providing exposure to U.S. history and values, diplomacy, finance, migration, national security, emergency preparedness and cross-cultural teamwork.
