The Inter-American Defense College conducted its United States Academic Field Study in Key West, Florida, from December 11 to 13.
The College’s 51 students, representing 14 partner countries, visited U.S. Coast Guard facilities in Key West to examine the USCG’s approaches to law enforcement, search and rescue, environmental protection, and other key missions.
The group also toured the headquarters of the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force-South, a multilateral initiative addressing security threats in the Caribbean region.
The Field Study provided an invaluable overview of the United States’ security and defense priorities in the hemisphere, helping prepare the students for their second semester in the IADC’s Master’s Degree in Defense and Inter-American Security program.
