Maj. Gen. Joseph M. Lestorti, Inter-American Defense College director, visited the Peruvian Navy flagship Unión in Baltimore, June 24, 2026.
The visit included boarding honors, a tour of the ship, an official luncheon, a commemorative gift exchange, a ship’s logbook signing and a formal departure ceremony.
Capt. Juan José Roncagliolo Gómez, captain of the Unión, Rear Adm. Óscar Oliva Angulo, Peruvian defense and naval attaché to the United States, Alberto González, Peruvian deputy chief of mission, and other distinguished guests participated in the visit.
The engagement strengthened professional relationships and reinforced institutional ties between the Inter-American Defense College and partners in the Western Hemisphere.
