The Inter-American Defense College welcomed Joseph M. Humire, deputy assistant secretary of war for Americas Security Affairs, for the Director Speaker Series, National Security and Defense Strategies, Aug. 21, 2026, at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, D.C.
Humire met with IADC leadership before addressing Class 66 in the Academic Auditorium. The event included opening remarks by IADC Director U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Joseph M. Lestorti, Humire’s presentation, a student question-and-answer session, and a Class 66 certificate and medallion presentation by U.S. Army Col. Vincent Cummings.
The session provided Class 66 an overview of how the National Defense Strategy translates into posture and partnership decisions across the Americas.
