The Inter-American Defense College co-hosted the Washington Security and Defense Seminar 2026 in partnership with the William J. Perry Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies at Kennedy Hall. The seminar brought together approximately 80 participants to examine the development of U.S. security and defense policies.
The program opened with remarks from IADC Interim Director RADM Paulo Ozorio and included a keynote lunch with Mr. Eric Farnsworth. Academic sessions featured Dr. Mark Hamilton on post-graduate defense and security education and Brazilian Army Colonel Giancarlo Niedermeir Belmonte on disruptive technology. Closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Joseph Humire and Dr. Paul J. Angelo.
The seminar strengthened professional relationships and advanced dialogue on defense, security, and emerging challenges across the hemisphere.
